Almost two decades later, a sequel is reportedly in the works. The Devil Wears Prada is based on a novel by Lauren Weisberger and incorporates her experience working as a personal assistant for an American editor with an affinity for oversized sunglasses. Meryl Streep took on the role of Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestly, while Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt played her assistants.
There is no official word about whether the original cast will reprise their iconic roles, however the upcoming film will allegedly follow Miranda as she navigates the modern publishing world in a growing digital landscape and goes head-to-head with Emily Blunt's character, who is now an advertising executive that Priestly is desperately seeking help from in order to keep Runway magazine afloat.
A release date has not been confirmed, so stay tuned for updates.
