Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2022 ready-to-wear is the epitome of workwear gone rogue. Miuccia Prada flipped the foundations of fashion to elevate 'normal' dressing, adding an edge to the everyday. Tailored trousers were transformed into rough-cut minis while sweaters and crisp white shirts were cropped just under the bust. Neutral hues sashayed down a snaking runway created by AMO at the Palais d’Iena, the style set looking on from Eames chairs; a reminder of the office building in which they sat. The interior was punctuated with artworks by Moroccan-born Meriem Bennani whose works were displayed through binocular-shaped screens.

For Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2022, Miuccia Prada reinvented the ordinary in a collection the House notes as a "reaction to and reflection of reality, an economy, a freshness found in iterations of eternal, universal garments." The collection, dubbed Basic Instincts, references and researches reality, using existing foundations and turning them into something new. Delicate embroideries - think: 3D florals and intricate beading - elevate the collection further and are juxtaposed with tough-as-nails leather looks.

Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2022 debuted alongside a collaboration with New Balance, the repurposed 574 sneaker's raw edges and neutral colourways echoed in the ready-to-wear collection. As if the collection wasn't enough to wow us, Miu Miu revealed that decoration waste and raw materials used in the fashion show would be repurposed to become available for use to professionals and students of the arts, thanks to La Reserve des Arts.
