Alberta Ferretti has appointed Lorenzo Serafini as its new creative director. Serafini, who has spent over a decade at the brand's sister label, Philosophy, brings a wealth of experience to the role. This appointment coincides with the announcement of a merger between Ferretti and Philosophy, aimed at strengthening the House's position in the fashion landscape.
Ferretti took to instagram to announce the news, "I am thrilled to announce that Lorenzo will be my successor at the helm of the brand that bears my name. With the fashion world undergoing tremendous change, I strongly believe that Lorenzo has the creativity, strong aesthetic sense, professionalism and expertise required to meet this challenge."
Having selected someone “in-house” for the role, Aeffe Group’s announcement of Ferretti’s new creative director feels like an expected progression unlike the bigger changes seen at multiple other Houses this season.
The Italian designer is expected to bring his unique sensibilities to the brand without altering its essence of lightness and femininity. The first collection under Serafini’s direction, which will also mark the integration of the two Houses, is scheduled to show at Milan Fashion Week for the Autumn/Winter 2025 season.
