The designer has been the star of London Fashion Week since 2003, known for his love for bold prints and eye-popping colours, is yet to elaborate on the reason behind his sudden exit from the business but stated this morning that the decision to close the label is due to "personal reasons". The designer will also be parting ways with his investor and business partner Eiesha Bharti Pasricha.

"It is not a decision that I take lightly and I am eternally grateful to my team for all their hard work and dedication. I am very thankful for all of the friends that I have across the industry, and I look forward to working with everyone again soon on future creative projects,” said Saunders in a closing statement.

No doubt this news will come as a shock to Saunders' close friends in the industry and loyal high profile clients including Poppy Delevingne, Alexa Chung, The Duchess of Cambridge and Sienna Miller. The question of the moment: What will Saunders do next, and will this be the start of a new chapter in his fashion journey?
