"While my own chapter draws to a close, Loewe’s story will continue for many years to come and I will look on with pride."

It is the end of an era. After 11 years as creative director, Jonathan Anderson is parting ways with Loewe. The Northern Irish designer transformed the Spanish House through culture-driven designs that championed craftsmanship and artistic collaborations. He also established the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize, which supports and spotlights artisans and vanishing crafts from around the globe.

"While reflecting on the last 11 years, I have been lucky enough to be surrounded by people with the imagination, the skills, the tenacity and the resourcefulness to find a way to say 'yes' to all my wildly ambitious ideas," shared Anderson in an official statement. Elaborating on his Instagram, he said, "Since day one, I envisioned creating a cultural brand. This idea relied heavily on the trust and generosity of the many artists, craftspeople, estates, foundations, museums and galleries who contributed their work. I am sincerely grateful to you all."

He concludes, "They say all good things must to come to an end, but I disagree. While my own chapter draws to a close, Loewe’s story will continue for many years to come and I will look on with pride."
