First Look: Kate Moss for Alexander McQueen

Jul 23, 2019 | 2 min read

Kate Moss photographed by Jamie Hawkesworth in the British countryside for Alexander McQueen

Shot by fashion photographer Jamie Hawkesworth in his signature docu-style, Kate Moss looks every inch her rock 'n'roll persona in the just released autumn/winter 2019 ad campaign for Alexander McQueen, wearing designs by creative director Sarah Burton.

A longtime friend of the late Lee Alexander McQueen, who tragically committed suicide in 2010, Kate regularly walked in his shows, but the first time she starred in a campaign was for the spring/summer 2014 collection. Shot by Steven Klein, the campaign was accompanied by a creepy video inspired by the 1960 film Peeping Tom in which Kate starred as the victim of a stalker.

For the autumn/winter 2019 campaign, however, we see her at her natural best photographed in the Northern English countryside wearing key looks from the Alexander McQueen catwalk show, including the sharply tailored suits (looks 4, 10, 38 and 40) ingrained at the heart of the brand's DNA, and the showstopping, couture-level gowns (looks 13, 32 and 39) that Sarah Burton has made her signature.
