Every woman needs an effortlessly chic handbag to carry into the new season and wear for many more to come. With a new autumn/winter wardrobe on the agenda, it is tempting to ship in the latest style from Paris, Milan or New York — but when two homegrown brands create a covetable line of functional, yet fabulous handbags, there’s no need to look beyond your own doorstep. Enter: Halm x Kristina Fidelskaya.
Pairing Kristina Fidelskaya’s penchant for simple, yet elegant silhouettes with Halm’s exquisite leatherwork, this collaboration sees two Dubai-based brands come together to create four limited edition bags. Part of the autumn/winter 2020 “Dream” collection, the limited edition pieces were first revealed during Fidelskaya’s AW20 runway show at Paris Fashion Week; where soft leather trench coats and sheer tulle skirts were teamed with the cross-body carriers in neutral tones of tan and delicious cream.
Set to launch in September, the pieces combine the regional brand’s shared adoration of exquisite craftsmanship and classic design. “Our collaboration is an organic relationship that came about between two emerging brands,” says Hanna Ransjö of Halm. “Our shared ethos and appreciation for curating classic pieces that can be handed down between generations, saw us come together to create a collection of handbags that embody both the Halm and Kristina Fidelskaya woman.”
Agreeing with Hanna, Fidelskaya adds that the collaboration is a reflection of modern femininity. “We share the same philosophy, and have a mutual understanding of the feminine ideals, interpreted into our pieces,” says Kristina Fidelskaya. Creating contemporary styles that have have wear-with-anything appeal and a timeless story to tell, the collaboration effortlessly blends together the two brand aesthetics — in fact, it's so seamless it's as if they were already one.
