Though summer typically sees a seasonal slow-down, where residents flock en masse to summer homes in cooler climes, there was plenty of goings-on in the fashion world this week. Regionally, Dior unveiled its UAE e-commerce platform and the Michelin Guide returned to Dubai to award the city's culinary sensations with its coveted stars. In the beauty space, there were new launches from Charlotte Tilbury and Gucci Beauty, while Gemfields unveiled a one-of-a-kind piece in collaboration with renowned jewellery House Fabergé. Here's everything you may have missed this week.

A Star Is Born
The Michelin Guide held the 2024 awarding ceremony on 4 July to celebrate Dubai's culinary achievements. Four Dubai restaurants received a one-star rating - namely La Dame De Pic Dubai, Sagetsu by Tetsuya, Smoked Room and Orfali Bros - and Row on 45 received the prestigious two-star recognition. As for the Bib Gourmand winners, six new restaurants were added to the list, including two concepts by Reif Othman: Reif Kushiyaki (Dubai Hills) and Hoe Lee Kow. Sheer Confidence
With summer in full swing, we're swapping heavy foundations for hydration heroes. As luck would have it, Charlotte Tilbury has released a lightweight, sheer-coverage foundation stick just in time for the season. The Unreal Skin Glow Tint replicates the lit-from-within glow of a ring light thanks to light-mapping mesh technology, while Vitamin E, hyaluronic acid and a specially formulated plant-powered "Collageneer" enhance bounce and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Whether you're searching for an on-the-go touchup, summer-proof formula or a foundation to take you from beach to bar in one swipe, Unreal Skin Glow Tint ticks all the boxes. Shop now
Like A Charm
Is the raffia accessories trend not quite your style? Stick with the classics, courtesy of Chloé. The House has launched a reimagining of its iconic Bracelet Bag, which first debuted in the early 2000s. Creative director Chemena Kamali presents the bag in an array of sensual hues - including black, dark khaki, wood rose and clay brown - and two versatile sizes. The Bracelet Bag evokes Chloé's nonchalant yet elegant approach to dressing; the moon-shaped slouchy silhouette is finished with a removable hook-ring bracelet handle in gold and a detachable strap. Red Alert
As far as makeup goes, there is nothing more timeless than a red lip. The finishing touch for any ensemble, every woman needs a statement-making red lipstick in their arsenal. Sabato de Sarno has released his first lipstick for Gucci Beauty since being appointed creative director - the striking shade, Rosso Ancora, is inspired by the elevator walls within The Savoy in London, where Guccio Gucci once worked as a porter. Although it provides a matte, highly pigmented finish, the Rouge à Lèvres Mat lipstick is hydrating and lightweight. Shop now

Fabergé has collaborated with Gemfields, the leading miner of coloured gemstones, to create a one-of-a-kind Fabergé x Gemfields Malaika Egg. The exquisite piece features precious Mozambican rubies (amongst white and brown diamonds, pink sapphires, amethysts and pearls) in homage to the birthstone of July and Mozambique itself. $100,000 from the sale of the Malaika Egg will be donated to the Gemfields Foundation to support community projects that alleviate poverty in Mozambique; Malaika translates to angel in Swahili and refers to the egg's angel wing-shaped blades. The egg unfurls to reveal a five-carat ruby encased in a rose-gold sphere.
