Slated to be the must-have bag for SS24, Dior’s new Lady D-Sire is the latest in a long line of iconic styles from the French fashion House, with a number of stylish iterations to suit all occasions
From the Book tote to the Saddle Bag, the cult of Dior’s handbags is one we have long been invested in. Traced back to Marc Bohan, the second designer to take the helm following Monsieur Dior’s untimely death in 1957 and the man responsible for the Oblique monogram in which the four letters of Dior come tossed together at an italic tilt, we have since seen an impressive number of iconic designs grace the world’s most stylish women, including the style made famous by the most regal of customers Princess Diana, for whom Dior named the Lady Dior bag. And now, this season, there’s a new bag on the block in the form of the Lady D-Sire.
Unveiled at Maria Grazia Chiuri’s SS24 show, which was held in its usual spot, the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, the House’s latest It bag — which is available in four different sizes — reinterprets the architectural lines of the iconic Lady Dior complete with supple silhouette and striking detail. Die-hard Dior fans will be treated to a number of different iterations including designs in crumpled leather on which the signature graphics of macrocannage add an elegant edge, as well as in grained Taurillon leather.
If that wasn’t enough variety to keep customers busy, colourways include black, dark brandy and powder beige, while elsewhere the likes of folding handles and adjustable straps allow for a magnitude of different styles, with each piece embossed with the ‘D,I,O,R’ charms in a chic gold hue. Oh, and the best bit? It’s available to buy now, so run — don’t walk — to your nearest boutique before it’s too late.
