Catch 'Em All

Anime fans rejoice — a fan favourite is becoming fine jewellery. In a multi-sided collab between artist Daniel Arsham, the globally successful Pokémon franchise and heritage jeweller Tiffany & Co., a capsule collection that feels a little bit wrong but, ultimately, looks very, very right has been born. Or, should we say, hatched.

Using Arsham’s Future Relics concept — anaesthetic he uses to reimagine everyday objects as eventual archaeological discoveries — the capsule was inspired by hisA Ripple In Time exhibition in Japan, which featured Pokémon characters in the style of retro-futuristic ancient Greek bronzes. Taking those heroic poses to Tiffany & Co.’s fine jewellery capabilities, a group of oxidised sterling silver pendants has been developed with six Pokémon characters represented. But it’s Pikachu’s iconic yellow that’s seen him upgraded to 18 carat gold with diamond accents — not bad for a cute little character. With Pika housed in a Tiffany Blue Poké Ball, this collection is full of fun to its very core. Wanna catch ‘em all? You’d better hurry! Explore the collection

A New Look

The Dior boutique at Mall of the Emirates, Dubai has officially reopened. The largest single-storey boutique in the region, the expansive space features womenswear, menswear, accessories, jewellery and homeware as well as VIP suites to try on all your new purchases. The elegant surrounds are in-keeping with Dior codes and are splashed with soothing hues of white, cream, blue and grey.

Art of the Matter

The fifth edition of the Artycapucines collection by Louis Vuitton is a tribute to contemporary art, as it combines Louis Vuitton’s Capucines with the vision of five leading contemporary artists around the world. A highlight in the new chapter of the collection is a textured bag by American artist Liza Lou. Wrapped in soft, pastel shades in a dream-like orb, her work is inspired by her acclaimed installation The Clouds.

The Capucines, which debuted in 2019, is named after Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, the Parisian street where Louis Vuitton opened its first store in 1854. The past four editions of the Artycapucines collection have featured some of the most prominent and accomplished artists of our time and its newest incarnation continues to pay homage to creativity. Major changes are in store for e-tailers next year, with online giants Farfetch and Matches being sold this week. The former was acquired by South Korean e-commerce giant Coupang - the largest online marketplace in the country - to save it from bankruptcy with a whopping $500 million worth of capital, while the latter was sold for $63 million to Frasers Group but retains its CEO, Nick Beighton.
