Dima Al-Sheikhli is one of the famous fashion bloggers known for her elegant and sophisticated looks, and is adored by many, with more than 315,000 followers on Instagram. Born and raised in Iraq, the 22-year-old brunette beauty now lives in Dubai, where she works with brands such as Chaumet, Fendi, Laura Mercier, Charlotte Tilbury, Dior, YSL, and Sisley. The MOJEH.com team caught up with the rising star to find out what it's like to be a blogger and social influencer in this modern and trendy world we live in.
**What does the term "social media influencer or blogger" mean to you?
Influencers have the power to influence others, but the way they use that power is what differentiates each one from the other. I believe that bloggers or anyone who has a presence and influence on social media should work to spread positive energy, encouragement and happiness.
**How would you describe your day?
My normal workday involves working on some projects and trying as much as possible to share some behind-the-scenes snippets with my followers. As for the weekend, I usually spend it with people I love or doing things that make me happy like horseback riding or watching Netflix in my bedroom.
**How did you build your social media audience and follower base?
When you do what you love and convey that love to the world, you will undoubtedly attract a positive following. I myself like to focus on quality, not quantity. I've never cared about how many followers I have, but I always look at what kind of followers I have.
**What are the advantages of being a fashion blogger on social media?
One of the perks of being a social media blogger is connecting with so many inspiring people in so many fields. It has given me the opportunity to meet many celebrities who have inspired me to pursue a career in fashion. Another advantage is that many people from different parts of the world reach out to me just to say hello, which is very endearing and touching to me.
**What are the negative things?
Having to deal with negative comments and annoying insults is unfortunately part of the job. They can be incredibly annoying, so if you decide to be a blogger, you'll have to live with them and not give them your full attention.
**Do you have any tips for taking perfect Instagram-worthy photos?
Capturing the perfect photo is hard to achieve, but I think the best way to get one is to keep it simple, make sure there is enough light and always smile.
