The eighth edition of the Dior Lady Art Project invites twelve artists from around the world to reinterpret the Lady Dior bag by utilising their unique artistry. From whimsical swirls crafted from countless beads to graffiti and pared-back reimagining of Dior's cannage quilting, the project fuses the works of renowned artists with the Maison's savoir-faire and reiterates the concept of fashion as a form of self-expression.
Go Green
A new rule has been implemented across Dubai banning single-use plastic shopping bags. Under the instruction of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, the ban began on 1 January and will soon extend to all single-use disposable products and recycled single-use products, with the aim of banning all single-use bags by 1 June. Next year, the ban will include more products including styrofoam food containers and plastic straws, while plastic and foam products will be completely prohibited by 2026.

Dubai is no stranger to breaking records - in fact, the city has achieved 425 Guinness World Records. Not to be outshone, Ras Al Khaimah got in on the action by breaking the Guinness World Records for Longest Chain of Aquatic Floating Fireworks and Longest Straight-Line Drone Display on New Year's Eve. The eight-minute show featured 1,050 drones, fireworks, pyrotechnics and acrobatic pyro planes creating displays mimicking Ras Al Khaimah's landscape - the desert, sea and mountains - to welcome in 2024 in spectacular style.
Paris Calling
The secret is out: social media-approved French-Japanese dining concept Café Kitsuné will open its doors in Dubai very soon. The second Middle Eastern destination for the café (the first was opened in Doha in 2022) and its 22nd outlet worldwide, it will be setting up shop in the H Residence in Al Wasl. Keep your eyes peeled on the café's UAE Instagram account for word on the official opening date.
