The last hurrah of the 2016 award season went down in history as the most memorable one. Yes, Leonardo Di Caprio won his first ever Oscar, looking dapper in a custom Giorgio Armani suit, obviously. The Academy finally answered our prayers.
Hollywood’s biggest night has been talked about a lot in the recent past and has been under siege by social critics, but the 88th Academy Awards put on quite a show to honour the year’s greatest cinematic masterpieces including Spotlight, The Big Short, and The Revenant. The big winners of the night included rising star Brie Larson, who wowed in a royal blue custom Gucci slip and took home the award for Best Actress for her performance in Room. Alicia Vikander made waves too as she stepped up to the podium at the Dolby Theatre to accept her award for Best Supporting Actress for The Danish Girl in a pastel yellow custom made Louis Vuitton gown. From lacy mermaid gowns to glamorous old school ball gowns, we round up the most eclectic Oscar styles on the red carpet this year.
