We speak to the Lebanese influencer about Karen Wazen Eyewear, her personal style, her proudest achievements and the future of fashion

Firstly, congratulations on the launch of your new eyewear collection! What are some of your favourite styles?

It’s always a challenge to pick favourites, but I must admit I wore the Sir for most of summer. It’s the perfect blend of futuristic and on-trend that makes it great to pair with everyday looks.

What does a typical day in your design studio look like?

Every day is different. More than designing a collection, the team behind the scenes have a massive undertaking — from taking care of production, maintaining our e-commerce platform and constantly looking for ways to innovate our digital platforms while also planning the next collection’s campaign.

How would you describe your own personal style?

It really depends on my mood! I can be adventurous, discovering contemporary brands and experimenting with new trends, fun colours and silhouettes, but I love a minimal look with classic staples elevated with statement pieces like a pair of sunglasses or bag.

What three words would you use to best describe your brand?

Bold, authentic, adventurous.

When are you at your happiest?

When I’m surrounded by family and friends, and when I’m pursuing my passions and creative endeavours. Beyond that, knowing that my work can inspire and empower others is incredibly rewarding and motivates me to keep pushing my boundaries.

What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?

If I can only choose one, it would have to be when we launched Karen Wazen Eyewear’s first collection. Building a brand from scratch was an incredible challenge that required dedication, hard work and a vision that aligned with my values.

Where will we find you when you’re not working?

With my loved ones. Often it’s truly the small moments that matter — from school drop offs to watching football games with the kids or dropping by my sister’s next door, these are the moments that matter the most to me.

What do you see for the future of eyewear?

An exciting blend of technology, fashion and sustainability. I believe eyewear will become more personalised, allowing individuals to customise their frames to suit their unique style and needs, from colours and materials to personalised fittings. Shop now
