Introducing the October issue of MOJEH: The Jewellery Issue. Here, Editor-in-Chief Mojeh Izadpanah shares her favourite pages, picks and predictions for the season ahead.
I don’t think I am the only one who is thinking: ‘how is it October already?’ As we edge towards the end of 2021, I am taking the time to reflect on yet another unpredictable year… World Mental Health Day is on October 10th and our feature Check and Balance highlights how the pressure for women to do it all, in a global pandemic no less, can make us stressed, burnt out and ill. The good news is, there are signs to take heed before it all gets too much, and we discuss what we can do to stop the problems before they start.
With EXPO 2020 in full swing, we speak to the inspiring power-duo that is Sophie Doireau, Cartier’s CEO for the Middle East, India and Africa, and Hind Al Owais, Vice President of the International Participants Department at Expo 2020 Dubai. This formidable team talks about the Women’s Pavilion, a space that will highlight the importance of gender equality and the incredible women that pave the way for women’s rights in the Middle East and around the globe.
Last but certainly not least, this issue is dedicated to all things diamonds, baubles, and trinkets. I love how the jewellery houses with hundreds of years of history reinvent archival pieces and continue to come up with contemporary looks that will (always) stand the test of time.
Embrace the emerald – count me in. Loro Piana, Chanel and Etro are just some of the houses offering head-to-toe colour this season, and I for one love this trend.
Accessories and me go way back. Whether it’s jewellery, bags, shoes or belts, I love to adorn myself according to whichever mood I’m in. This month, it’s all about warm jewel tones with some gold hardware thrown in.
