New York Fashion Week kicks off the month long schedule of s/s17 shows that will see fashion’s elite wing their way across all four fashion capitals. MOJEH rounds up the up-and-coming faces you should be watching out for on the catwalk.

Emma Macgowan quietly rose up through the ranks in her native Australia before making her Parisian runway debut for Miu Miu’s a/w16 show in February. Since then, the 16-year old schoolgirl walked in almost all of the shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia and was selected to close the Oscar de la Renta’s show at MBFWA.

Since walking for Iceberg, Max Mara and Paul and Joe during the A/W16 shows in February this fresh faced 19-year old Dominican model has been signed as the new face of Vivienne Westwood and is expected to make her NYFW debut this week.

Walking as a world exclusive in Louis Vuitton’s S/S16 show was just the beginning for Atlanta native Caroline Reagan who followed up her debut season walking in a whopping 26 shows in February this year, as well as appearances for Valentino and Christian Dior during Haute Couture Week.

Lithe Canadian model Julee Huang got her industry break during the s/s16 shows last year, walking for three designers in Paris. fast forward to February of this year and the calculus and volleyball obsessed student graced 20 catwalks in all four fashion capitals. Since then she’s landed countless editorial campaigns and looks set to rule the catwalk this month.

Shelby Hayes was thrust into the spotlight a year ago when she was discovered by a model scout while grocery shopping with her mother. Two weeks later Shelby walked for Proenza Schouler and Marc Jacobs in their S/S16 show and the rest, as they say, is history. The Californian native went on to walk in almost 20 shows during the A/W16 fashion weeks as well as landing a Marc Jacobs campaign – pretty impressive for her first year in the industy.
