The brand’s youthful and airy style is perfect for today’s It Girl

Just when you thought boho was out, Alberta Ferretti opened Milian Fashion Week SS19 with a collection that emphasised the contemporary feminine aesthetic, while maintaining a relaxed, effortless glamour.

“In this collection, I wanted to create a new attitude that encourages women to voice their strong personality through innocence, gentleness and an almost dreamy calmness. It is with this thought in mind that I was able to build a story that describes a physical adventure and an internal exploration, a more introspective journey. This leads to reflecting on the joys of living, while provoking women towards a deeper understanding of themselves in this world,” said Ferretti in show notes.

Moving away from her signature flowing and delicate long designs, Ferretti showcased a new silhouette of varying volumes and shapes that skimmed the body with a range of mini poplin dresses, slips and rompers. Utilitarian inspired trousers were worn under cardigans tied to the waist, while a white high neck, bell-sleeve top was layered underneath a loose-hanging jacket. The colour scheme was mostly made up of pastel pink, light blue and green, as a nod to the shades of the desert at dusk.
