MFW: All things Max Mara

35 sec read

Earlier today, Max Mara injected Milan’s runways with an infectious dose of tropical modernity.  Creative, radical and passionate, their latest ready-to-wear collection is ideal for the contemporary woman.

Inspired by the late Latin American architect and designer Lina Bo Bardi, a rational, yet sensual, athletic and sultry plethora of clothes strutted down the runway to the eponymous 1968 album ‘Tropicália ou Panis et Circencis’. Boom, chica, boom…

Torn layers of retro propaganda posters echo the tumult of design, culture and politics into which Bo Bardi threw herself. Cool-toned exotic floral prints have been absorbed into Max Mara’s tressings, as well as the latest technological advancements. High performance jerseys and nylons from the sports arena are borrowed and reworked to create glamorous bodycon dresses.
