Fast forward to mid-year, and the AW15 collection takes us deeper into the captivating mind behind the brand, Lilian Afshar. As her latest collection takes a mineralised direction, expressing a deep connection to the earth in tones of crushed ice and pegmatite black, we take a quick look at a day in the life of the business savvy designer with a free soul.

How do you begin your day?
A morning walk with my dog Hunter, after having a green smoothie and some coffee. I then head to the factory or the office.
Are there any beauty regimes you prioritise for morning?
My daily skincare routine.
Current shoe crush and why?
Bionda Castana, her shoes are extremely comfortable and perfect for the day.
Your frequented spa of choice?
One & Only Royal Mirage.
A piece of clothing essential to your style?
An oversized pinstriped suit.
How do you spend your afternoons?
At the factory checking on production and new season samples or either at the office designing, packing and checking emails.
The best new café you’ve come across in the region for 2015 and why?
This is not necessarily a café, but The Espresso Lab at the Hundred Wellness Centre has the world’s best coffee.
The perfect travel book and why?
The Space Between Us by Zoya Pirzad.
Are there any particular places you hunt for inspiration and how does it help you design?
Anywhere and everywhere I visit, for example strolling through the Columbia flower market in London, Le Marais in Paris and the Getty Villa in L.A.
Where did you derive the inspiration for your current collection from?
AW15 was inspired by Francis Bacon. For SS16 I was inspired by conceptual artist Ward Roberts, a focus on his pastel-hued ‘Courts’. Stay tuned!
