She's sporty, sexy and she's got a whole lot of famous friends. We take a closer look at Donatella Versace’s 'athletic couture' woman for summer.

Breaking all the Rules
Always a dynamic power-ball, Donatella Versace rejects the traditional norms of couture, which can often weigh down on creativity. Instead, Versace turned to a modern woman employing current lifestyle trends to influence a younger couture audience. Lighter, softer materials with minimal embellishments decorating easy-to-wear, yet super glamorous and sensually charged designs mark the future of the house.

She's Heading to the Track Field
Celebrating a woman's body has always been at the forefront of the designer's vision (and fittingly so) this collection revolves around athleticism or 'athletic couture', where the designer taps into the modern sports luxe trend and the current 'strong is sexy' ideal. Models strutted down the runway in posh tracksuit bottoms with sky scraping heels, built on racer necklines, sheer silhouettes with full skirts, flashes of neon and yards of sporty lace that bring light to the power of the body.

A celebration of the #GirlSquad
It was a gathering of the ultimate #girlsquad where the Italian designer signed up her muses and the world’s most wanted models to star in her Paris show; including Lara Stone, Irina Shayk, Stella Maxwell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Joan Smalls, Natasha Poly and, of course, Gigi Hadid.

Subtly Seductive Beauty
Makeup artist extraordinaire Pat McGrath collaborated with the house to create a subtle glamazon look, keeping the face fresh and simple with a dramatic smokey black eye. "It’s a much easier, fresh approach to glamour," describes McGrath. The look was perfected with soft bouncy hair courtesy of hairstylist Guido Palau.

Famous Friends
The front row was shining with both old and new friends of the brand, from designers Alexander Wang, Riccardo Tisci and Anthony Vaccarello to superstar Rita Ora (wearing an orange minidress direct from the runway).
