PFW: Wild Details at Kenzo

Mar 09, 2016 | 1 min read

A time-travel diary across the wilderness of Japan

The Kenzo girl this season is a time-travelling adventuress who gathers periodic and geographic souvenirs through the Victorian era with pit stops in Seventies and Eighties Japan. “She tackles every adventure with an open mind and with respect for where she has previously tread,” read the show notes from creative heads Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, who created a line-up of abstracted sailor details, inspired by Japanese manga character Sailor Moon. We also noticed a plethora of exaggerated ruffled sleeves teamed with fitted bodices, giant ruffs and cuffs in plaid, layered tiger print cropped tops and a tailored grey dress embellished with purple irises. Add to that a purple faux astrakhan Sixties jacket with a tiger print collar and matching cropped pants and you have a collection that is not for the faint-hearted.
