Sequins, stardust and a heavy dose of Saturday Night Fever.

Studio 54 eat your heart out! Lebanese designer Elie Saab brought a heady dose of Saturday Night Fever to Paris with his 70’s-esque spring/summer17 show titled "Standing on Stardust". Disco tunes blared from the Espace Ephémère Tuileries’ sound system, as a stellar cast of models strode down the runway in an array of applique stars, heavy fringing and sequins.

While the collection had a retro feel to it, Saab’s signature attention to detail was ever present, as was his love of embellishment. Short skirts and mini dresses made up the opening looks which eventually gave way to the gorgeous gown silhouettes that have made the designer a firm red carpet favourite. Movement played a big part in the show too, materialising in the form of billowing lamé dresses in metallic hues, flowing capes and trains, as well as fringed micro-minidresses. Saab has cast his net wide with this collection, creating a wide spectrum of pieces that will appeal to women of varying ages. We’ve selected some of our favourite looks from the show.
