Sep 14, 2016 | 3 min read

As NYFW draws to a close we bring you the week's hottest trends fresh from the runway.

It was a week that saw models surrender to September's scorching heat, barely there shorts cause commotion on the front row and Gigi Hadid take New York by storm. There were also some runway shows too and some tremendously good ones at that. After yet another very hectic New York Fashion Week we've taken a retrospective look back at the shows to bring you some of the city's biggest trends.

Pastel Perfection

Delicate sorbet shades brought an air of femininity to the runways with a large number of designers turning out their very own sweet confections. Prabal Gurung's dreamy lilac slip dress is the perfect dress for hot summer nights and Erin Fetherston's powder pink suit is a strong cocktail party contender.

White Out:

White made its case as summer's statement hue taking many versatile and wearable forms. From a crisp ladylike dress ar Cushnie et Ochs to Jill Stuart's floaty skirt and sleek camisole combo there's a style and a look for any kind of summer soirée.

Orange:

Zingy shades of orange emitted an upbeat energy at Victoria Beckham, Narcsico Rodriguez and Akris. We've already made room at the top of our wishlists for Jenny Packham's off shoulder maxidress!

Grand Proportions:

Wide-legged trousers and loose blazers heralded the shape of things to come as flared trousers in delicate fabrics and masculine cut suits were both relaxed and elegant, ideal for a working wardobe in the summer months.

Orange Obsession:

Shorts Story:

Tailored shorts paired with athletic-style jackets will be the go-to for city slicker's the world over. Styled with sandals or sliders during the day and a platform heel at night, these will prove their worth as a round-the-clock summer essential.
