Dior's Raf Simons put a gentle spin on futurism, colouring it in soft pastels for SS16.

Flowers blossomed, everywhere. Emerging from a manmade hill in the centre of the Louvre’s Cour Carrée covered with 400,000 delphiniums models hit the runway. Opening with Simons’ new muse Sofia Mechetner, a feeling of femininity was evident. Sheer, white separates were interspersed with some interestingly shaped knits. All-white looks have become a signature for Simons at the house. A colour palette of softs pastels prevailed with a splurge of elegant navy blue across tailored suits, or light jackets draped across shoulders. Sheer fabrics glided over bodies and constructed a simple but strong silhouette. Pointy ankle-strap flats, buckled at the front, took precedence throughout. And the pièce de résistance? The scalloped edged skirts. A definite favourite for the summer style mavens next year.
Barefaced beauty is always centre stage at Dior and this season was no different. Peter Philips crafted clean faces with a hint of rosy pink cheeks and a slick of tint on the lips. Hair was neatly tucked into choker-like scarves and left with a shiny, straight and sleek appeal.
