Each collection by Ulyana Sergeenko brings a fresh lesson in Russian history. Throughout her nine seasons on the prestigious Parisian calendar, she’s covered everything from the opulent Orient Express to St. Petersburg’s Soviet Era apartments.
This fall she and her business partner, Frol Burimskiy, are celebrating the Soviet Union during the Sixties and have drawn inspiration from their parents’ childhood. By their mutual account, the Sixties were an optimistic time, bursting with confidence and promise. However, the tone of their latest collection is noticeably more sedate.
