Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2016

Supermodels marched through the runway donning glamorous retro tailored pieces that define casual-luxe. Asymmetric shirtdresses pleated in variable styles by the expert hands of Maison Lognon on the same platform as patent leather jumpsuits teamed with aviator sunglasses transported us to sixties modernity. Transformation played key to the theme of the collection with basic pieces revamped to luxury masterpieces like the basic tank top turned to a crystal-encrusted showpiece by Maison Lesage. We saw similar versions of shimmery silk cargo pants in red lurex lamé and leopard print lace that brought out the element of modern couture, fit for the brand’s high profile young clientele. The designer’s close friend perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, enhanced the venue with a smokey rose aroma to capture the cinematic mood of the evening.
