Highlights from Men's Fashion Week

With Men’s Fashion Week well and truly underway, we look at the best moments that have unfolded thus far - just in case you missed them.

Gucci

The creative world of Alessandro Michele continues to captivate us all. The show took on a Seventies spin with flower-power prints and retro silhouettes. While flared trousers and florals were aplenty at Gucci, there was a stronger sense of masculinity in the tailoring, as suits were streamlined and revived from past decades. 

Versace

A hybrid of futuristic and athletic elements formed Versace’s A/W 2016 collection. The intergalactic voyage Donatella Versace took her man on was one for the boldly adventurous. Metallic silver trousers, white space suits, lavender saturated suits and buckled scuba sneakers hinted at a gravitational pull from a an alternative universe.

Dolce & Gabbana 

The selfie phenomenon is back on the runway with Dolce & Gabana’s latest autumnal offerings. Models held tablets while streaming live clips straight from the runway and onto large screens. As for the collection, a distinctive western aesthetic guided the designs with cactus, horseshoe and pistol motifs embellished on much of the clothing. Shearling lined coats and warm winter woolies were wrapped around the models in a mirage of fine fashion. 

Prada

The latest showings from Prada saw sailor motifs becoming a noticeable presence on the runway, along with wool tights and deconstructed shirting. Miuccia Prada’s vision for the collection saw retro inspired designs built with an edgier attitude. There was also a notable distinction between the collection and the current topical headlines making news around the world. 

Fendi

The laidback style that guided the heritage house was met with the label's iconic luxurious feel. The collection saw blue and black tartan robes, dusty pink fleeces, shearling lined coats and rolled turtle necks. Trousers were heavy and were tucked under thick knits, whilst bedroom slippers got given a new lease of life.
