Valentino’s Sabato De Sarno is adding Gucci to his impressive resumé

Sabato De Sarno has been officially appointed Creative Director of Gucci. The Naples-born designer began his career at Prada before moving to Dolce & Gabbana and eventually joining Valentino as Fashion Director, working alongside Pierpaolo Piccioli.

Kering and Gucci released a joint statement to announce the news, with President and CEO of Gucci, Marco Bizzarri saying, “I am delighted that Sabato will join Gucci as the House’s new Creative Director, one of the most influential roles in the luxury industry. Having worked with a number of Italy’s most renowned luxury fashion houses, he brings with him a vast and relevant experience.” De Sarno adds, “I am deeply honoured to take on the role as Creative Director of Gucci. I am proud to join a House with such an extraordinary history and heritage, that over the years has been able to welcome and cherish values I believe in.” He will present his debut collection at Milan Fashion Week this September. We can’t wait to see what he has in store.
