Bottega Veneta hosted a cultural exchange showcasing the talents of regional creatives in a three-day event filled with film screenings, musical performances, storytelling and poetry. The event took place in Alserkal Avenue's multidisciplinary art venue Concrete in a custom space designed by Lebanese architect Carl Gerges, dubbed The Square. Inspired by the Arabic term majlis, a symbol of togetherness, The Square - splashed with Bottega Green - saw spectators gather in the intimate sunken seating area to watch the cultural exchange unfold.
The Square saw Yemeni East-African visual storyteller Shaima al Tamimi, Sudanese-British spoken-word poet Asthma Al Badawi, Lebanese musician Samer Doumet and Canadian poet Mustafa The Poet come together to share their talents. With The Square, Bottega Veneta aims to support the creative community and create a platform for emerging talents, and demonstrates the House's mission to impact communities and the wider world through more than fashion. The next instalment will take place in Tokyo later this month before heading to San Francisco, Shanghai and Sao Paulo.
