Seven Accessory Trends From Milan Fashion Week SS25

Milan Fashion Week celebrated self-expression with extroverted accessories that command attention

Gucci, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Missoni - some of the world's most revered fashion Houses showcase their collections during Milan Fashion Week. The spring/summer 2025 season provided copious amounts of fashion inspiration for the upcoming season and all eyes were on accessories. Milan Fashion Week saw a more extroverted approach to design, championing eccentric accessories that are sure to be statement-makers. Here, MOJEH rounds-up the seven accessory trends that will be taking 2025 by storm.

Heads Up

Though hats are a year-round staple for shielding yourself from harmful rays or hiding a bad hair day, Milan Fashion Week swapped practicality for personality - look no further than Prada's visor-sunglasses hybrid that covers almost the entire face (save for a visibility panel) for proof. Gucci opted for bright, holiday-ready hats with wide brims while Bottega Veneta was, well, Bottega Veneta.

Go Big Or Go Home

Extroverted accessories were the heroes of Milan Fashion Week, and that includes over-the-top necklaces that double as sculptures. Take Missoni, for example. A (potentially hazardous?) necklace that loops around the arm and neck, it combines a series of rings. Gucci offers a more wearable take on the trend with an acid-green necklace inspired by the handles of the House's iconic bamboo bags, while Alberta Ferretti's floral choker is perfect for holiday evenings and an ideal complement to a strapless dress.

Hold All

Who would have thought actually being able to fit your belongings in your bag would be a trend? Designers bid farewell to the micro bag trend by ushering in an era of the oversized - Jil Sander, Ferragamo and The Attico all hopped on the big-bag bandwagon this season. The bags can be worn on the shoulder with the handle or as a clutch under the arm; Ferragamo's supple, soft leather iteration features metal clasps, while The Attico's bag is wrapped in suede.

Make A Statement

While dainty studs and classic hoops are versatile for every day, Milan Fashion Week's quirky statement earrings stole the show. From lime-green mermaids dangling from earlobes at Etro and gilded swordfish at Roberto Cavalli to cartoon characters (namely Olive Oyl, Popeye's beloved) at Moschino, say goodbye to subtlety for SS25.

Block It Out

Prada's dystopian sunglasses are a certified statement-maker. With oversized hexagonal lenses that extend over the forehead, colourful tints and contrasting frames, these buggy pieces were one of the most viral accessories of fashion month. On the more low-key side (all things considered), Max Mara presented see-through futuristic frames while Gucci's curved silhouettes are one of the season's more wearable options.

On The Right Foot

Although designers continue to give consumers what they want - that is, oversized dad sneakers and casual footwear - for day-to-day wear, there were sprinklings of fancy footwear throughout spring/summer 2025 collections. Diesel debuted see-through platforms that had models seemingly floating on a sea of denim; Del Core channeled hospital-chic with shoe covers; and Roberto Cavalli's sequinned mules are the ultimate party heel.

Lend A Hand

Biker, opera, silk or mesh, gloves are a lesser-appreciated accessory often reserved for the depths of winter. However, spring/summer collections at Milan Fashion Week included gloves galore. Gucci unveiled fingerless biker gloves in varying hues, from beige and black to shocking green and sultry burgundy, while Del Core's futuristic latex designs rose above the elbow.
