Sep 19, 2024 | 3 min read

Roksanda Ilinčić’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection was a journey of colour bursts, sculpture and flow

Attendees filed into the Roksanda show at London Fashion Week in anticipation of the experience they were about to take in, and with a location like Covent Garden’s Brutalist Space House, expectations were high. The seating was both indoors and out, with an iconic view of London’s skyline; it was an immaculate setting for what was about to be a collection that expertly balanced architectural form with graceful fluidity.

The show began with a focus on sharp tailoring and precise pleating, setting a tone of refined sophistication that envisioned a dreamy interpretation of corporate dressing. As the show evolved, the juxtaposition of rigid structures with flowing fabrics became apparent. Each piece seemed to catch the air, showcasing its sculptural form and movement, blending the static with the dynamic in an ultra-sleek manner.

Notable were Roksanda’s distinctive silhouettes, including oversized sculptural bows and feathered accents that added dramatic flair. These bold elements were balanced by the softness of flowing garments, creating a striking visual tension. The colour palette, featuring shades like burnt umber, pale pink and tangerine orange, accentuated the collection’s sculptural qualities and left attendees with a thirst for fluorescence and colour.

Roksanda’s collection regenerated classic elegance with a contemporary edge, merging fluid fabrics with structural details to create a blend of fantasy and practicality. The Brutalist venue perfectly complemented the collection’s mix of rigid and fluid forms, enhancing the overall impact.

Roksanda Ilinčić was inspired by the artworks of Agnes Denes for this collection. Denes is a Hungarian artist whose most well-known installation, Wheatfield- A Confrontation, saw the takeover of a New York City landfill and carried a message of slowing down, co-existing with nature and assessing life's priorities. The collection incorporated the inspiration through neutral hues, raffia-fringed dresses and prints of natural landscapes.

Roksanda's Spring/Summer 2025 show reinforced her reputation as a leading designer, combining precise structure with ethereal movement to deliver a collection that is bold, wearable and simply fabulous.
