Miu Miu Embraces The Honesty Of Youth For Its SS25 Collection

Oct 02, 2024 | 2 min read

The collection, titled Salt Looks Like Sugar, incorporates themes of early youth and freedom of expression

Honesty is the best policy - at least, according to Miu Miu. The House’s spring/summer 2025 collection is inspired by the honesty and truth of early youth, specifically the freedom of self and how dressing during this age is an unashamed expression of oneself.

Experimental, audacious, unconventional, whimsical. Miu Miu SS25 seemingly explores these themes through clothes worn the ‘wrong’ way (for example, sweaters tied around the torso as tops) or layered in nonsensical fashion, while also nodding to the impulsivity of youth. Cashmere sweaters over shirts and under coats, all for summer? Why not. Preppy polos and zip-up hoodies teamed with briefs? But of course. Hammering home the youthful reference are bright colours, frilled hems, backpacks and oversized sunglasses with colourful frames.

The Miu Miu It Girl uniform (reminiscent of an actual uniform) continues into SS25 with baby tees, pleated skirts (though the viral mini length is swapped for mid-calf) and knee-high socks in white, navy, grey and red, worn on the FROW by said It Girls including Addison Rae, Camilla Cabello and Barbara Palvin.
