"Nighthawk is a reaction to a culture of fast fashion, conceived to inspire across generations and platforms."

Maison Margiela premiered Nighthawk, its new documentary, at an intimate watch party at Cinema Le Balcaz during Paris Fashion Week. Based on an original story by John Galliano, Nighthawk is a horror vignette directed by Sasha Kasiuha which stars Kim Kardashian, Gwendoline Christie and Monica Bellucci, among other friends of the House. The film offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the creative process for the 2024 Artisanal Couture collection, sharing footage from within the atelier and narrated by Galliano himself.

Nighthawk blurs the lines between fiction and reality in a nod to haute couture's ability to bring magic to life. By combining the fittings footage with haunting imagery, it mirrors the cinematic experience of the January 2024 show and gives the film its horror-movie feel. Nighthawk continues the chronicles of Count and Hen, characters first introduced in Cinema Inferno, a film created by the House to debut alongside its 2022 Artisanal Collection.

The film captures the essence of the House and demonstrates John Galliano's commitment to fostering community. "Nighthawk is a reaction to a culture of fast fashion, conceived to inspire across generations and platforms," reads the statement. Nighthawk is now streaming digitally and can be watched here.
