Skin-toned separates, underwear as outerwear and all-sheer everything - Kim Jones’ SS25 collection for Fendi has nothing to hide. The collection, presented on day one of Milan Fashion Week, marks the House’s centennial and infuses Fendi signatures and ‘20s-inspired themes throughout. “1925 has so many milestone moments,” explains Kim Jones in the show notes. “We approached the collection with these things in mind, as an amalgam of epochs, moods and techniques – then and now.”
Fendi SS25 marries the worlds of couture and ready-to-wear, handmade and machine-made innovations and daywear and eveningwear through pieces that are at once structured, undone, practical and whimsical.
Practical elements include lightweight outerwear and work-appropriate pieces, as well as hardy workman’s boots created in collaboration with Red Wing; the whimsical saw skirts evoking upside-down tank tops and sheer-panelled dresses made all the more feminine with dainty floral embellishments.
As for accessories, SS25 introduces the Mamma Baguette - a taller, wider and bigger version of the iconic silhouette - which serves as a message about the House's commitment to both innovation and heritage.
