Mixing and matching pieces from her wardrobe, the muse for this season’s Dolce & Gabbana collection was the “cool girl” — her unique ensembles, born from an almost chaotic creative process, exuded an effortless charm. The looks featured layers of different styles, tastefully put together to create a look of nonchalance.
The Autumn/Winter collection consisted of two parts: outerwear and eveningwear. While rooted in established House codes, both sections featured a contemporary energy. Utility-inspired leather jackets and decadent coats offered a compelling counterpoint to the fluid sensuality of lace and silk. This deliberate interplay of masculine and feminine elements created a dynamic tension, a balanced yet captivating dialogue between both the fabrics and silhouettes. What’s more, a subtle street-style undercurrent injected a youthful, undeniably modern edge to the entire collection.
There was just the right amount of prints and patterns, including the Leo print which stays a staple in the designer’s collections, followed by bejewelled dresses that make for the ideal dinner party show-stopper. There was a wide variety in the collection despite lace and layers being the focal point — think embellished denims and printed t-shirts adding a touch of oomph.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get better, the runway, extending to the street outside Dolce & Gabbana's headquarters, made for a dramatic detour, allowing thousands of fans a moment of runway madness.
