In the show notes for Prada spring/summer 2022, Miuccia Prada writes: "We thought of words like elegant, but this feels so old-fashioned. Really, it's about a language of seduction that always leads back to the body." She is explaining the decision to name the collection Seduction, Stripped Down. However, one look at the spring/summer 2022 offerings and you'll realise that no other name would do.
This season's Prada woman has mastered the art of seduction; ultra-short minis, corsetry boning, satin sheaths and lashings of leather are as beautiful as they are bold. Accessories are edgier, too. Think sharp-toed slingbacks, sporty triangle crossbodies and structured totes. The first collection Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons presented physically, spring/summer 2022 is an explosion of energy, evident through bright accessories, geometric shapes and sensual silhouettes. Heavy knits are juxtaposed with leg-baring bottoms, though are equally seductive thanks to Madonna-esque brassiere outlining. A new take on feminine dressing, miniskirts have extra-long trains; masculine outerwear boast seductive tie-up fronts; structured blazers include waist-cinching belts. The naughty-but-nice collection allows the wearer's mood to dictate their ensemble. So, what'll it be? Shop the collection
