The athleisure trend is still going strong, but this summer, we're upping the ante. Think lycra leggings in pastel shades, head-to-toe sequin dresses and lots and lots of luscious layers. MOJEH styles the latest pieces from the easy going trend
For MOJEH's June cover story, New York based stylist Julie Brooke Williams amplifies our notions of athleisure. In short: take everything you've learnt from previous seasons, add some clashing hues, high-octane fabrics and layer-up to the max. Models Irina Djuranovic, Mical Bockru, Tong Zhang and Yvonne Bevanda wear jubilant pieces from Calvin Klein, Prada and Valentino. Tangerine orange, electric blue and even barbie pink make an appearance. True to athleisure form, silhouettes are over-sized but structured - a nipped in waistline and shape around the neck are key - and base fabrics are soft and free-flowing. Outerwear has a varsity feel from cricketer jumpers to long-line blazers. The more flamboyant looks come in the way of Calvin Klein's pom-pom green and white dress and Versace's head-to-toe orange lycra number. If Donatella did cheer uniforms, this is what they'd look like.
