The latest to jump on the ‘runway to retail’ business model, DVF’s autumn capsule collection is available to buy straight after the presentation with adjusted prices at the last minute to make them more “accessible”.

The Models

Being a stylish It-girl of the Seventies and a regular face in Andy Warhol’s star studded Studio 54, Von Furstenberg’s latest collection is immersed in her experience. Supermodels Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Lily Aldridge, Kendall Jenner, Jourdan Dunn and Elsa Hosk lounged and danced at the presentation reviving the modern day version of the disco-era.

The Beauty

The hair and makeup on models represented the DVF woman’s essence- bold, strong and unapologetically sexy. A smouldering eye shadow teamed with perfectly arched brows and bright red nails, with hair left in their natural texture with subtle waves, is textbook Diane.

The Trends

The disco spirit was alive and kicking at the presentation, which featured maxi knits, pussy-bow blouses, fur stoles and a lot of sequins. Her signature wrap dress made a comeback in longer silhouette and retro updates.

The Art

Diane von Furstenberg and her old friend, surrealist artist Salvadore Dalí, partied together back in the Seventies. Diane is famously a keen collector of his art and has been long influenced by his work, integrating it in her campaigns and collections. At her autumn/winter presentation, models posed on a couch similar to the one Dalí designed after Mae West’s lips, paying homage to the artist and her Studio 54 dance partner.
