The wait is over. One of the most anticipated shows of the season has brought together the best of the fashion industry to honour Karl Lagerfeld…

On the final day of Paris Fashion Week, Chanel marked the end of an era as the maison presented Karl Lagerfeld‘s final collection at the Grand Palais earlier today.

Fashion’s glitterati arrived to Chanel’s Winter Wonderland with emotions running high as the show began with a minute of silence reserved for the late designer. Then came the wind chimes.

All eyes were fixated on the snow-covered runway in anticipation to see what the late designer was working on, right before his passing last month.

Leading the model pack was a firm-favourite of the brand, Cara Delevingne, who walked with aplomb in a soft, black and white, tweed coat.

The power line-up then followed (including Penelope Cruz, Kaia Gerber and Anna Ewers), fronting Karl’s brilliant silhouettes. Think high-waisted pleated pants, skinny minidresses, matching cropped jackets, sweater dresses and zip-up ski tops – a wardrobe fit for your next ski vacation.

Accessories remained eye-catching throughout the show too, as shearling double-C fanny packs, snow boots and snowflake-inspired hair jewellery beautifully topped off the Fall/Winter ’19 collection.

At the end, there were tears, in the audience and from the models, too. An individual, both formidable and unforgettable, Karl Lagerfeld will live in our hearts forever.
