A pop star, two actresses and a tennis legend walk into a Met Gala…

We are officially in the run-up to the fashion world’s most highly anticipated event. An exclusive, invite-only evening where the stars come dressed to the nines in the hopes of landing on best-dressed lists around the world – and avoid ridicule forevermore. Of course, we can only be talking about the Met Gala. The Met Gala is hosted by Anna Wintour every year as a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. There is an exhibition – this year, it is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty – that celebrities can peruse before settling in for an evening of debauchery. All the more important is the red carpet beforehand, where the world watches as stars tumble out of vans to showcase ensembles months in the making.

At the helm of the Met Gala is Anna Wintour, who brings the event to life alongside honorary chairs Tom Ford and Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram. And, every year, Wintour selects four co-chairs that share responsibility for selecting the guest list, curating the menu and giving input on decor. The co-chairs for the 2023 Met Gala are superstar Dua Lipa; Oscar winner and Chanel muse Penélope Cruz; screenwriter and actor Michaela Coel and tennis legend Roger Federer. Given the diverse selection, we are sure to see a guest list shake-up and interesting takes on the “In Honour of Karl” dress code.
