DIOR TALKS
The first series of Dior Talks, which launched on March 8, explores the subject of feminist art and it’s connection to the house of Dior. Creative director of Maison Margiela, John Galliano, launched the acclaimed podcast The Memory of…With John Galliano in 2018. In each episode, Galliano reveals the inspiration and concept behind his latest Maison Margiela collection, in a poetic 10-12 minute narrative that offers an inside view into the designer’s own creative process. The latest episode, AW20 ‘Défilé’, is centered the autumn/winter 2020 collection which explores the conscience of contemporary luxury through Galliano’s new project, Recicla; a creative form of upcycling, restoring and re-appropriating fashion. In 2017, Chanel launched its fashion podcast, the 3.55 — a virtual library of inspiration and creation, documented through conversations with artists and friends of the house. Recorded in spaces which reflect Chanel, such as Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment or the Métiers d’art ateliers and also during events including runway shows, the podcast is a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the house though a dialogue that’s made to be replayed again and again. The last series focused on the Mademoiselle Privé Tokyo exhibition; exploring haute couture, high jewellery and Chanel N°5, with Pharrell Williams and Sofia Coppola discussing the codes and craft of the maison.
