Bigger, higher and shinier. Try these 60s inspired hairstyles for the weekend

Big hair coifs, beehives and up-dos were all over the A/W15 shows. From Adam Selman to Badgely Mishka and McQueen, coiffed poufs with an emphasis on bigger volume and thicker locks were the new epitome of frazzled luxury. Bringing to mind icons such as the great Amy Winehouse, Diana Ross, Barbara Streisand, Audrey Hepburn and Jane Fonda who not only popularised big hair but championed the beehive.

Originally created in the Sixties by expert Margaret Vinci Heldt, the hairstyle would live on to become a cultural reference from everything to girl gangs, supermodels and musicians. As fashion enters a period heavily emphasised by the past this year we’re going to add this trend to another win for the girls who love a contemporary ‘throwback’. If you're heading to that late night soiree or lounging at that weekend resort, add a beehive coif for some extra drama.
