The Bahraini fine jewellery designer may have only launched JGala in 2022, but Maryam Fayadh is already captivating the masses with her lifelong passion for creating irresistible jewels
I wake up at… between 7am and 8am. For me, mornings are a time of joy, energy, positivity and productivity, and offer a new chance to create something truly wonderful and meaningful.
My morning routine normally consists of… preparing a green smoothie followed by a cup or two of coffee before planning my schedule for the day.
I’m responsible for… every aspect of running the business, from big decisions to the smallest details. It’s very challenging, but I learn something new every day. I enjoy the satisfaction that comes with seeing my business grow and succeed.
My typical day… begins with the part I love the most — packing orders. This is followed by tackling my inbox and checking JGala’s Instagram page for any queries. I then alternate between administrative work or visiting the workshop to continue refining my hands-on training.

My go-to working wardrobe… consists of smart casual black dresses when I’m not at work and oversized shirts paired with comfortable linen pants for my workshop.
My go-to beauty look for the 9 to 5… embraces natural beauty. I prefer to keep my makeup routine simple, and my go-to products for a natural and flawless finish are concealer, a touch of blush and mascara. On occasions when I want to add a bit of extra flair, a winged eyeliner completes the look.
For lunch I eat… something light. I love vegetables so I get creative with my salad recipes, and seafood is my top choice for protein. If I’m craving a heartier meal I’ll opt for burgers, tacos or sushi.
What I love most about my job is… having the flexibility to schedule my work around my family’s time — I can prioritise my loved ones while also pursuing my dreams. I also love being able to create beautiful pieces that bring joy to women. It’s truly fulfilling work.
And what I enjoy the least is… administrative work. It can be incredibly time-consuming and often takes away from the joy and energy that I would rather devote to designing new pieces or learning more at the workshop.

When I get home I… go outside with my dog Quinn and then it’s family time. Depending on when we finish work, we might go out for a drive or a coffee date in the area before unwinding for dinner. I try to end my evening by reading a book instead of scrolling through social media.
I couldn’t live without… my laptop. I carry it with me everywhere!
When I feel stressed I… either find comfort in healthy desserts or go out for a short run or swim. It helps remind me that there’s no need to stress, as I always manage to accomplish what needs to be done.
