10 Ways to Wear Red This Week

As seen on models backstage at the Spring Summer 18 shows, peruse our edit of the coolest ways to wear red.

Think big graphic prints, punchy accessories and for the fainter-hearted, lighter red finishings across softer hues. Antonio Berardi off-sets grunge inspired, cherry red knee-high laced boots against prairie girl dresses with paisley prints, meanwhile, Lanvin offers block red in pillow-box options and mini-dresses with graphic prints. This season’s It sock comes in the form of Prada’s racing stripes with vintage logo in a faded red and pink combo, and backstage at Marco de Vincenzo vintage pink and red bags are decorated with curtain tassels and complemented with iridescent red lips – perfect for those who prefer small pops of the hue rather than bold statements. Florals come in the form of poppy prints at Proenza Schouler where black and white dresses and jackets are embroidered with neon red flowers; painterly prints at Delpozo melded with washes of turquoise, pink and silver in a romantic landscape led by over-sized red flora; and wallpaper inspired paisley prints in rose red. Fittingly for Valentine’s week, Gucci’s popular slogans include ‘Never Marry A Mitford’ in tetris style, orange-red typography, printed across jumpers and alluding to the famous English aristocrats from the World War II era. And for those less in love with the hue, look towards Giambattista Valli who has used the colour to complement softer shades of pink, with small embellishments of red sequins.
