The Interiors
Dubai’s F&B scene of late has seen an implosion of restaurants ready to welcome the city’s growing community of young, hip creatives. Think eclectic interiors and experimental food within an unassuming, easy-going setting, (Masti and Flamingo Rooms By Tashas, to name a couple). With its indoor-outdoor vibe, industrial feel and a touch of gilded treasure, The London Project, Dubai, perfectly fits the bill.
Miniature gardens of beautifully kempt tropical fauna and forna connect the balcony areas with the inside. Metal punctuates the sprawling space offering a purposefully unfinished feel while over-sized bronzed hanging lights add warmth. And true to Dubai form, rivers of high-octane silver mosaics snake down the walls and minimalist chandeliers hang from the ceilings.
The Location
The London Project is located on the east-side of the city’s newly opened Bluewaters Island meaning unparalleled views of the Dubai skyline. Secure a table on its laid-back terrace and you will be facing the endlessly twinkling lights of The Palm, Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence’s high-rises. Not to mention the big, beautiful blue of the Arabian Gulf; epically candescent at night.
That Gnocchi
Quite simply, do not leave without trying the Wild Mushroom And Truffle Gnocchi. Generous helpings of truffle sit atop melt-in-the-mouth house-made gnocchi accented with wild mushroom and a slow cooked egg. Order a plate and share across the table.
The Menu
Where others tend to fuel dishes with over-zelous, miss-matched ingredients in the pursuit of newness, The London Project’s menu is a careful paradox of familiarity and freshness. The menu has touches of experimentation – Champagne Fish And Chips and Coffee Roasted Beetroot Salad, to name a couple – but they’re considered and pared back.

For the table: Freshly Shucked Oysters, Wild Mushroom And Truffle Gnocchi, and Botanica flat bread.
For mains: Hazelnut Crusted Chicken or Signature Black Angus.
For dessert: The Gin Garden.
The Thursday Night Vibes
Clues in the name. The London Project offers the same stimulating and openness as you’d expect from a trendy London bar or restaurant. The waiting team have a knowledgeable and lively panache and the service feels instinctive, not forced. Slow beats flow from the sound system at the perfect volume (it’s unlikely you’ll spend a Thursday night shouting across the table to be heard). Add flowing food and drinks in to the mix and the hours blissfully while away.
