The Weekend Edit: Flamingo Room By Tashas

1 min read

A place where the interiors are just as quixotic as the food. Could this be Dubai's most luscious dining spot?

The low-down: forget the food – which, by the way, is tantalising –  Flamingo Room by Tashas is quite possibly the most lavishly lady-like spot in Dubai. A colour palette of cream, peach and gold make up the interiors while ornate decorations spiral from the walls and ceiling. If you like your weekends to look opulent and quixotic, then this one is for you.

Start the experience with a virgin cocktail. Beautifully made and Instagramable to boot. The Turkish Delight has a base of rose syrup, cranberry juice and soda while actual turkish delight cubes and pistachio nuts leave it sitting pretty on your table. The Pimm’s Cocktail, a MOJEH favourite, is a light and refreshing concoction of cucumber, pomegranate, raspberries, strawberries, ginger ale, lime and orange wedges.

Sumptuous dishes flow through the restaurant at both lunch and dinner time. Whether visiting as a large group or just a couple, we recommend plenty of sharing style plates from the Burrata and Prawn Avo Ritz, to the Octopus Carpaccio, and Butternut Gnocchi and Cashew Cream. Keep in mind that Tashas is of South African descent, so a few meat dishes are a must. The Beef Fillet and Peri-Peri Baby Chicken are high on the MOJEH list.

Finally, there’d be no point visiting such a beautiful spot without ending with one of their carefully curated desserts. Try either the Tropical Flamingo, (pineapple granita, liquid marshmallow, coconut crumble, pineapple & chilli confit and chantilly cream), or Elderflower Panna Cotta, (raspberry consommé and fresh berries), for a light yet yummy option. But if you’re a chocolate lover, then both the Chocolate Mousse To Share and Choco Banoffee Bread & Butter Pudding are delicious.
