Chanel Cruise 2020 show

Chanel’s Cruise shows are often a highly-anticipated date in calendar. From spectacular sets like the 148-metre-long Chanel-branded cruise ship for 2019, to far flung destinations including 2016’s colour-popping presentation in Cuba and  memorable milestones like last year’s Beaux-Arts style train station which marked Virginie Viard’s first solo show.

This year, the Chanel Cruise 2021 show was due to be staged in the ultimate holiday spot of Capri, Italy on May 7 and was later cancelled amid the coronavirus pandemic. But for Chanel, a house that has a long history of luxury resortwear, cruise will never be cancelled.

The house has announced a new cruise show concept which will be showcased digitally via Chanel.com and across social media platforms. Entitled ‘Balade en Méditerranée’ (which translates to a Mediterranean stroll), the Cruise 2021 collection will be revealed on Monday June 8 at 2pm (UAE time).

One of the first leading luxury brand’s to unveil a collection in socially distant circumstances, Chanel’s digital reveal could set the tone of what’s to come in fashion’s new normal. Here’s a teaser of the take-me-to-Capri style presentation…

Stay tuned for the virtual presentation of Chanel’s Cruise 2021 collection, which will be unveiled online on June 8; Chanel.com
