The countdown to the weekend is officially on. With a few days to go until Ramadan, the country is gearing up for a slew of exciting events set to scratch your cultural itching. This weekend alone, the country is hosting some enriching experiences that range from music, art and culinary offerings.
The Hotspot
In a nod to the UAE’s Year of Tolerance, there’s a new multi-space venue where cultures reign supreme. Kulture House is an artisanal café, concept store and art pop-up space inspired by cultural influences from around the world. A renovated Jumeirah villa where creativity and the community is nurtured, the vibrant and bright interiors are as inviting and enriching as the menu itself.
The Show
The Dubai Opera have added another brand new show to their already impressive line-up this weekend. Performed by The National Ballet of Ukraine, this weekend will see the story of Sleeping Beauty unfold on the Dubai Opera stage. The iconic fairytale follows Princess Aurora, who falls into a deep, enchanted sleep after she pricks her finger on a spindle. Cursed by the wicked fairy, only the kiss from a Prince can wake her.
The New Brunch
There's a new oceanic brunch taking place at one of the city's iconic luxury French restaurants – Pierchic. Indulge in all the Saturday brunch special, titled Ocean Vibe, has to offer which includes mussels marinara, a fish tartare platter and local artisan burrata for starters. Whilst enjoying the stunning views of the ocean, enjoy some live music as you taste some delicious local tiger prawns, Galician octopus, U.S. rib eye steak and grilled vegetables.
The Movie
The wait is finally over. Marvel Studios' highly anticipated film, Avengers: Endgame, has just hit theatres and it's a film you don't want to miss. An all-star cast of hunks, cult favourites, and Hollywood legends to play its leads, costumed and otherwise – we're certain the blockbuster will be comfortably sitting on top of the box office for quite some time.
The Party
Happy Birthday Base! The d3-based superclub is turning two this year and of course, you're invited. Celebrating with a bang, international rap star Tyga will be there to perform some of his hit singles – Taste, Rack City and Wait For A Minute. It’s going to be a big weekend, don’t miss it.
The Concert
The multi award-winning tenor Andrea Bocelli will be making his return to the UAE this weekend. Set to perform for one-night only, the world famous classical artist will take to the stage at Yas Islan'ds du Arena in Abu Dhabi, and will perform an array of his best-loved hits.
