It seems that Pierpaolo Piccioli looked to the streets of Rome, circa the 70s to be exact, as inspiration for the Valentino Cruise 2019. The show, which took place in New York, paid tribute to Italy's grand capital channeling its different layers in a collection rife with eclecticism as well as the house's signature precious dresses. With wearable being the key message, there were plenty of styles to satiate everyday dressing needs; from shirt dresses to silk shirts and even flared denim. Floral femininity came to live with San Gallo lace, while the 70s were channeled in Valentino's archival logos that took on a bootlegger form, all mixed up and jumbled together.
