Emaar Hospitality Group is set to open its doors to The Address Boulevard Dubai early next year and Dubai’s creative clique is scrambling to get the first look. Part of the hotel’s unique offering is the opportunity for guests to marvel at a host of art installations, which will transform this luxury city lifestyle resort into a giant exhibition.
A total of 48 artists, of whom Jana Růžičková is one, have contributed to the awe-inspiring inventive effort. A connoisseur of unique works of glass, including bespoke lighting installations and artworks made from resplendent crystals, Růžičková has created a spectacular four-metre chandelier that cascades down the Address Boulevard Dubai's magnificent staircase.
“I wanted the finished installation to represent a precious jewel adorning the space in which it would reside,” says Růžičková in an exclusive interview with MOJEH. “I wanted the end result to have the same effect of a beautiful jewel worn around the neck of a woman – elegant, sophisticated and beautiful. My icon was Audrey Hepburn. Her fashion style, accessories, and her jewels inspired me. She was the Queen I pictured when designing the collection.”

The Czech's entire 46-piece bespoke collection was designed in under three months and includes thousands of opulent hand-blown glass pieces. Themed ‘The Spirit of Timeless Luxury’, Růžičková has produced more than 4,500 radiant glass pearl drops of various sizes, as well as over 3,500 hand-blown glass rods and more than 6,000 prism-cut crystals, all of which have been incorporated into her breathtaking installations.
“As the hotel is situation in the UAE, I felt there needed to be a connection to the region and its heritage. So naturally I chose the pearl as the central theme of the flagship piece." The UAE produced the finest pearls in the world for over 7,000 years, long before the discovery of oil. "Not only is the pearl an important aspect of the heritage of the UAE, it is revered across the world.”
